Acne laser treatment

Inflammation of the sebaceous or oil glands and hair follicles contributes to acne pimples, which typically afflict the face, neck, chest, shoulders, and upper back where the highest concentration of sebaceous follicles occur. When these follicles become clogged and inflamed, they grow into cysts that can create scarring. Using advanced laser treatments developed at PLDI, our physicians target the involved structures to significantly reduce inflammation. A series of treatments can often provide lasting clearance and permanently reduce acne lesions without the need for other medication. The laser approaches used at PLDI have been designed and refined to increase both effectiveness and safety. Our pioneering work on this topic was recently published in a leading academic dermatology journal.
